The Tin Woodman of Oz by L. Frank Baum presented by The Online Stage.

A young boy named Woot encounters The Tin Woodman and The Scarecrow, who are sharing stories of the past. Woot inquires how the Tin Woodman came to be made of tin. The Tin Woodman, known as Nick Chopper, was in love with a girl named Nimmie Amee, who also happened to be the Wicked Witch of the East’s ward. The Witch enchanted the Tin Woodman’s axe, which caused him to chop off all his limbs. Each limb was replaced by Ku-Klip, a tinsmith. Figuring he could no longer love the girl without his heart, Nick Chopper left her. Soon after these events, Dorothy and the Scarecrow encounter him on the road to Oz. Woot suggests that perhaps he should find Nimmie Amee now that his heart was restored by The Wizard, and the trio sets off on a quest to track her down. This is the twelfth book in the Oz series.

While trying to find their way home, they wander into the Rose Kingdom and are held prisoner by the Royal Gardener. Just in the nick of time, Shaggy Man falls through the roof of the greenhouse and tries to convince the Gardener to let the pair go, using his powerful Love Magnet. Unable to convince them, the trio is instead banished with Ozma’s cousin, Princess Ozga, in tow. Shaggy Man is on a quest to find his brother, running afoul of the dastardly Nome King and confronting Queen Ann of Oogaboo, who is attempting to conquer Oz with her army of seventeen men.

Ojo and Unc Nunkie live in the land of Oz in Munchkin Country. Their neighbor, Dr. Pipt, has been devotedly working on the Powder of Life for many years. This magical powder will turn inanimate objects into living things. While demonstrating its power on a stuffed doll made of patchwork, Dr. Pipt accidentally turns his wife and Unc Nunkie to stone. It is up to Ojo to collect the necessary ingredients to destroy the spell and turn them back. Ojo and Scraps, the patchwork girl, set off on their journey to return everything to right, encountering many familiar Ozian faces, including Ozma, Jack Pumpkinhead, Shaggy Man, and the Tin Woodman.

The Little Women Collection by Louisa May Alcott presented by The Online Stage.

This collection includes the remastered Online Stage productions of Little Women, Little Men, Jo’s Boys as well as Comic Tragedies by Jo & Meg.

Little Women is the story of four sisters growing up against the background of the American Civil War. Alcott wrote the book at the urging of the publisher, Thomas Niles, who was seeking a story about girls that would have popular appeal. Although it was commenced essentially as a children’s book, it developed into something of a bildungsroman, which touches on more serious issues such as the difficulties faced by single-parent families, the death of a sibling, and fractured relationships.

Little Men tells the continuing story of Jo March, who has married Professor Bhaer, with whom she now runs a small school.

In Jo’s Boys, we revisit the Plumfield clan 10 years later, all grown up and finding their way through life’s adventures and misadventures. Simmering romances blossom for some while the bravery and strength of others are tested. Through it all, Jo and Professor Bhaer desperately hope they have done their duty in raising up good citizens of the world with dreams, passions, empathy, and intelligence. Alcott shines once again with her ability to write human emotion through real-world scenarios that are still relevant today.

Comic Tragedies by Jo & Meg is a collection of plays written by Jo and Meg March, often discussed and performed in the March family attic by the beloved Little Women as the Pickwick Players. Our cast returns as Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth to perform every role with dramatic flair from damsels in distress to evil villains, and no shortage of mistaken identities and sword fights.

Cast:

Narrators—Lee Ann Howlett and Erin Grassie

Jo—Amanda Friday

Amy—Becca Maggie and Anna Grace

Laurie—Andy Harrington

Professor Bhaer—Ben Lindsey-Clark

The Emerald City of Oz by L. Frank Baum presented by The Online Stage

Despite Dorothy’s many tales of her adventures in Oz, Aunt Em and Uncle Henry never quite believe her stories. Upon finding out the tornado that destroyed their farmhouse in book 1 (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz) is the cause of her Uncle Henry’s horrible debt, Dorothy is determined to help her family. She makes plans with Ozma to bring her aunt and uncle to Oz where they may live happily ever after. Unbeknownst to Ozma and our friends in Oz, the Nome King is plotting to take over the Land of Oz and retrieve his magic belt that Dorothy took from him in book 3, Ozma of Oz. Many familiar faces join Dorothy and her family on their journey as well as new characters such as the Growleywogs and the Phanfasms of Phantastico.
