I have been interested in producing a compendium of interesting historical detective series from the early 20th century. There is a lot of interest in the early detectives created and here Arthur Morrison has brought to life Martin Hewitt. Really well written and a glimpse into the day-to-day life of civil servants and different moral codes that were being questioned pre WWI.
