And Gone Tomorrow

Andrew Jefferson V. Offutt (1934-2013) – Offutt began publishing in 1954 with the story “And Gone Tomorrow” in IF. He was a prolific writer of science-fiction tales, adventure/fantasy (Conan), and erotica/porn (writing as John Cleve and other pseudonyms). He wrote novels in the Thieves World series and many others.

“And Gone Tomorrow” is the $1,000 prize-winning story in IF’s College Science Fiction Contest…which answers the theme question: “What will life in America be like 100 years from now?”
